Candidates For Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, otherwise known as cosmetic surgery, is a cosmetic plastic surgery process for altering and reshaping the nose. There are four types of rhinoplasty - reconstructive surgery, which restores the shape and function of the existing nose; cosmetic surgery that changes the look of your nose by reshaping it; a simple surgery where small incisions are made and stitches are placed in order to tighten the wound, or to reduce scarring and suture. Some patients may also have a procedure called a postoperative correction.
Rhinoplastay surgery, also called a rhinoplasty revision, can be done as a single procedure. You will receive anesthetic drops that numb the area and numb you enough to be able to be sedated. An anesthesiologist will administer the sedatives to you and then take the stitches out in a day or two. The doctor will make some changes to the original surgery.
During revision surgery, your doctor will re-engineer your nasal bones and adjust the cartilage in your nostrils. In addition, you may need to add cartilage and other tissue. Your surgeon will make small incisions in the bone and use them to fix any holes in the bone, such as from the surgery itself or from a wound. After that, your surgeon will put these new materials into place.
A postoperative correction, also known as a postoperative adjustment, is performed after the surgical incision. This procedure involves placing an implant into one of your nostril spaces, either with a tiny pin or a small needle. The implant is positioned in the bone above the original opening and will cover the hole to help stop the infection from returning.
A cosmetic plastic surgery, also known as a blepharoplasty, can be done using a different approach. For this procedure, the surgeon will remove the blepharoplasty and replace it with a new, more contoured blepharoplasty. This procedure involves the use of an eyelid lift, which means the surgeon makes a small incision in one corner of your eye and removes the existing blepharoplasty and replaces it with a more flattering blepharoplasty.
Rhinoplasty is considered a cosmetic plastic surgery and not a medical one. If you decide to have this procedure, you should talk to your doctor about any medications or other problems you might have that would require a change in your diet or medication in order to have your surgical needs met.
All plastic surgeons are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and their board certifies them to provide you with a very thorough examination of your body. Your surgeon will perform the exam on you to make sure he or she is making an accurate diagnosis and that all of your needs are being met.
Rhinoplasty has become a common procedure for women of all ages. If you are considering having this procedure, talk to your doctor about whether or not it is right for you. and you will be much better off for it!
